Guatemala El Mirador

Finally, some fresh-crop Guatemalan coffee! This is the first from the most recent harvest and we're so excited!

This lot comes from Ever Mendoza, a 2nd generation coffee farmer. El Mirador ("the overlook - because of it has an incredible view of Huehuetenango) is a gorgeous farm at 1600MASL in Huehue. Mr. Mendoza lives on the farm with his family and his father, who taught him everything he knows about coffee. There is a lot of love that goes into these beans.

This is a mixed lot from his farm - varieties include Catuai, Caturra, Pache and Bourbon. All the coffees are washed and fermented for 32 hours in tanks.

This is a very sweet approachable coffee with a heavy mouthfeel. The sweetness reminds us of caramel, vanilla and pastry.  There is a layer of milk chocolate, pecan and cashew.  As it cools we taste hints of raisin and apple.  This is a really easy coffee to enjoy and a great example of a washed Guatemala coffee.
