A very surprising coffee from Mexico! This bean comes to us from of Santa Cruz Itundujia, located high up in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. The four farms that contributed to this micro-lot are part of the same family. 50 years ago the parents of Don Pedro Garcia Jose planted coffee in their farm. This land was later divided into four farms and the cultivation continued by their son, Don Pedro Garcia Jose. When his children saw the high demand for their father’s coffee, the son Luis Roberto Garcia Zuñiga, son in law Hilario Garcia Sandoval, and daughter, Señora Paz began cultivating the coffee on their farms.
This washed coffee of the Bourbon and Criollo varieties, grown at 1500-1700 MASL, is certified NOP organic and will probably surprise you by how clean it is for a Mexican coffee. We’re tasting watermelon, spiced plum and caramel.
