We’re excited and proud to bring you a coffee out of a country from which you don’t see a lot of coffee. The coffee comes from two washing stations in Hutwe and Bukununu – villages in Congo’s Kivu region. The washing stations are owned and operated by small groups of around 50 farmers each. The farmers each pay around $50 to get training and equipment by a Belgium NGO. These Bourbon coffees are hand picked before pulping. Fully washed and dried on raised beds where a second picking occurs.
