Peru Teofilo Pinchi Espinosa

The coffees we're tasting coming out of Peru are coming up quickly. This lot blew our socks off the table and we snagged the last three bags of it they had.
From the Cusco region of Peru, this coffee is from Teofilo Pinchi Espinosa of the Valle Inca producer group. The group invests in the infrastructure and quality of the local producers. The group was formalized recently to get Fair Trade and Organic certifications and thus be able to pay higher prices to the producers than they otherwise would have gotten.
These beans were grown at 1800MASL, washed and of the Typica variety. Nothing typical about the taste, though. We get strawberries, caramel and cashews in this very creamy coffee.

DIRECT TRADE COFFEE

To us, direct trade means that we've visited the farm, have a relationship with the producer, and understand how much of the price the producer is getting - and we'll share that with you as the "farmgate" price.Text
