Burundi Gikingo

Our first Burundi in forever! This lot comes to us from the Nkaka Washing Station that collects coffees from nearly 2400 small farmers in the area.

Burundi has come a long way as far as traceability and quality go. Skilled washing and lot separation mean it's possible now to find really delicious lots like this one and keep them from getting mixed up with other lots that aren't as good.

This lot is pure Red Bourbon, grown at 1650MASL, washed after being fermented overnight in water tanks and the dried on raised beds.

We taste all kinds of small fruits, like currant, raisins, cranberries and plums with a honey-caramel sweetness in the cup. It's really quite tasty.
